General Information About Dubai ( دبيّ )

    

   
     United Arab Emirates which is a Middle Eastern country, is located in the Persian Gulf. This country consists of seven emirates. Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. The emirate of Dubai is located southeast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula.  Dubai is the most populous in these emirates.

     Dubai is spectacular city by the modernity, but essentially it used to known as fishing town in 1960s. As a result of the implemented policies after 1990, Dubai had been forward to become the region's most important commercial center and Dubai has made a name around the world in 2000s. Now Dubai is synthesis of the modern era and past ages. Skyscrapers and historical mosques can be examples for this. Skyscrapers exemplify the modernity of the city. Historical mosques also exemplify for past ages.

     The world's first 7-star hotel is located in Dubai. It is the most importan feature of the city. The name of the hotel is Burj El Arab.

     Local market places and historical mosques draw attentions of tourists. At the same time, there are many entertainment facilities such as parks, cinemas and entertainment centers.There are  tax-free shopping at all shopping malls in Dubai. It wouldn't be wrong to say shopping paradise to the city :) It is the first place where shopping enthusiasts want to go. All of the shopping centers  have air- conditioning so it is refreshing for visitors who want to go there in summer months.

     There are excessively restaurants. You could find flavors of dubai and international cuisines.

     I would strongly advice horse racing. These races are famous around the world and exemplify culture of Dubai, because everybody wear special clothes and hats. These races are organized at the Nad Al Sheba racecourse. You could spend time watching horse race at nights andcamel race daytime.

     There are also golf courses and night clubs. in fact, there can not be listed full of unlimited funs in Dubai.

Dubai is definitely worth a visit when you get a better understanding.
